Memory Care
Our fully secured Memory Care Neighborhood is a cheerful, pleasant, and safe place with a home-like atmosphere featuring 22 private apartments as well as a family room, dining room, and outdoor courtyard with walking paths; all designed with the special needs of our residents living with Alzheimer's or related dementia. Every detail is thoughtfully designed to enhance the comfort and safety of our elders, fostering their interests in an environment that minimizes confusion and agitation.
The Vistas is dedicated to enhancing quality of life and preserving dignity while meeting the health, social, spiritual, and emotional needs of those with Alzheimer's and other age-related dementias. Our staff demonstrates leadership and creativity through our innovative person-centered programs. We collaborate with family members, health care professionals, and the community in supporting cutting-edge research to expedite the day we might live in an Alzheimer's free world.
Person Centered Care Approach
We believe that despite the progressive nature of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, a person's independence, ability to function, and quality of life will be improved through the person centered care approach.
Our memory care program is built around each individual's life history, current abilities, and interests. These specialized programs are designed and implemented by our staff. They include development of individual 'Life Stories', creative assistance techniques, methods of interventions that significantly reduce problem behaviors, and a special physical environment that promotes optimum functioning, and meaningful "moments of joy". This "person-centered" approach to care allows us to care for residents as we would a beloved family member or close friend.
The Vistas is a place where elders can succeed and achieve; where they are encouraged to function at their highest level, and where they may find a sense of belonging, companionship, and self-esteem.
The dining experience within our Memory Care Community is also special. Our dining room offers relaxing music, home-style service, and the companionship of friends and family.
Coordinated Care
Our Memory Care Coordinator develops your loved one's service program through an interdisciplinary team approach. We encourage families to visit often and to participate in the activities and special events. Many families discover that without the responsibility of caregiving they can truly relax and enjoy the time they spend with their loved ones.
Hearts at Work
Caring for someone with Alzheimer's disease or related dementia takes a very special kind of person. We hire generous and nurturing people with caring hearts and spirits for whom providing comfort, support and respect is second nature.
You will find these special people at The Vistas. People with the ability to improve the quality of life for your loved one, not only by providing assistance with their activities of daily living, but also by involving them in structured programming that is meaningful and purposeful.
