Hurley Baird

Hurley Baird, Dining Services Director

As the Dining Services Director for The Vistas Assisted Living and Memory Care Community, Chef Hurley is responsible for creating a delightful dining experience for residents and guests. He also trains and supports the success of cooks and dining services staff.

Hurley is from a military family. Born in San Diego, California, he grew up moving, as military kids do, all over Southern California and Hawaii. Hurley began cooking as an Executive Chef in the hotel business 12 years ago and has since worked as an Executive Chef in both restaurants and hotels.

In 2005, Hurley had the opportunity to open Hurley’s Bar and Grill in Chico, CA. After a few years, he realized that he wanted more from life; more time with his children and more time to do something meaningful. He sold his restaurant and moved back to Redding. In 2008, Hurley joined the Vistas family as the Dining Services Director. As a very knowledgeable and talented chef, Hurley particularly enjoys teaching young people that desire to become chefs. He enjoys the ability to do this while working at the Vistas.

Hurley and his wife, Karilee, have five children. They are active in their church and enjoy the outdoors and family activities. Passionate about health and fitness, when Hurley is not at work, you will often find him at the gym.
